Finally my item arrived today (read: 30-40 mins ago). The PS3yes.

I will not post pictures because I don't want some sort of legal issues or anything.
It took me a couple tries to get it working, because the instructions on the site were rather vague.
The instructions will tell you a huge variety of things to do, all you really need to really do is plug in the PS3Yes, and boot it up properly (2nd attempt worked, the first time i had another usb cord plugged in, if you have your controller register with the machine, it will negate the ps3yes dev mode and you'll have to start all over again)

So anyway.. after booting it up properly (power switch on>power button>quickly press cd eject button), get a usb flash drive or the harddrive you are going to use the PS3yes with, and plug it in, with the backup manager file off the ps3yes.com website. (Major step i was wondering why it didn't register. Most early cases /reports on this item, the software came preloaded and they did not have to download anything. The newer types require you to download from the website.) Also take note, my version was indeed as advertised a  ATMEL chipset, which is basically a wet dream for anyone trying to get their ps3 jailbroken. Its the best thing you can get. After you have the usb storage drive and the ps3yes plugged in, install the package from the ps3yes website (LINK) , (unzip and put into the storage drive)

On your ps3 hit the option to install package files, itll load up and install after a couple OK button presses, and you're off! works like a charm.

I think while writing this i realized i was using the wrong backup manager , the outdated one, the one i linked is more recent.  The PS3yes website is very disorganized and doesn't specifically say certain things, like in plain english. I am a more advanced user and if it confused me , it will definitely confuse people not familiar with stuff like this.

To give an example , on the ps3yes website, they list about 10+ different programs, all for different hex flashed versions of the ps3yes. I am too tired to get into detail on the specifics, suffice it to say, its complex and confusing. There should be a big bold print display of what exactly someone is interested in, someone who just bought the ps3 yes and wants to load it up right away so they can get to their games.

Bottom Line:

I am currently backing up my legitimate copy of red dead redemption , dead tired,need to get my clothes from the wash, need to take a shower,  need to go food shopping, need to go print out a package rma and drive to a ups drop box location which is a little ways away, also planning on in the middle of all that going to gamestop and trading in my collection of games for some store credit and either preordering cataclysm with it, preordering new vegas (doubt it), or getting wow time cards with it. I dont think ill be interested in black ops, it'd have to be liquid gold for me to buy into that shit again, i rarely play Mw2 because the way servers are handled, always some stupid foreign dudes lagging up the PC automatch games, they end up getting host position and everyone lags then quits, and we have to start it all over agian. I am just really tired, you probably can tell from my writing, wasn't planning on all this stuff arriving today, but im excited, finally ! no more PS3 game purchases, infinite amount of games to play on ps3 for free, I should have gotten a 360 a long time ago, i would have saved so much money.


Update:  Just a quick update, not many viewers come here anyway, but anyway Its like 12 AM and im still trying to get this to work, it was very ... optimistic for me to expect everything to work 100% flawlessly out of the box. I have a lot of special conditions which make this a little more difficult, basically I had to update the hex code, get new firmware, and hopefully thatll fix the issue. But basically it hasnt been running very well, mainly due to user error (read: me being a dumbass)  I was so tired from dealing with reformats and waiting times and slow usb transfer rates that i went to bed and gave up on the list of things i had to do . Anyway, the issue is that the translation on the website and the instructions are super difficult to deal with. Its a totally new kind of thing im dealing with here (dev chip usb drives and firmware/flashing hex files) and im reading the instructions that are in broken english. I stopped to take a break right now because im looking at something that could possibly brick my new dev chip if i make one mistake or press the wrong button, and there are a lot of buttons on the application to press. Of course the ps3yes.com website does not list anything about this part, just that i should use firmware from their site or it will ruin the "auto update" feature.

 also just to note, i get a little obsessive on trying to get things to work, its frustrating and i dont like to stop until it works properly, i havent even eaten since yesterday afternoon, this stuff irks me

To sum it up Valve , after turning their major game into a cash shop sellout game worse than any f2p korean mmo, have decided to start banning people for "suspicious" trades. BAN. Ban as in BANNED from all VAC games over virtual item trading.

VAC is not limited to TF2, it includes many games, like CS, Left4Dead , Halflife (because of its multiplayer), and any most recent call of duty game.

Why do people praise this platform again? Why tie all your games into one account, in which one person, one moderator, can turn of all your games at the drop of a hat?
